What is MEAN Stack?

MEAN stack refers to a collection of JavaScript based technologies used to develop web applications and is an acronym for MongoDB, ExpressJS, AngularJS and Node.js. From client to server to database, MEAN is full stack JavaScript.

MongoDB is a schemaless NoSQL database system.

Express is lightweight framework used to build web applications in Node.

AngularJS is a JavaScript framework developed by Google.

Node.js is a server side JavaScript execution environment.

Why is MEAN important?

  1. The reason of choosing Mongo is that, it lets you make use of just one language the whole way through.
  2. MongoDB is built for the cloud.
  3. Express gives you the simple interface so that you can make request endpoints and cookie handling.
  4. AngularJS is used to develop the single page applications with the use of the MVC architecture maintained by Google.
  5. Node.js is superfast
  6. Node.js compiles the JavaScript code to native machine code before the execution and is lightweight and perfect for the real time applications.
  7. It lets the developer write the entire code in JavaScript from client to server.
  8. The stack gets updated regularly as MEAN components are open source.
  9. It is easy and flexible to understand and use which helps the developers to customize as per your needs.

Why the course is most sought after?/ What are the career benefits in-store for you?

  1. MEAN is used for green-field projects that could benefit from flexibility, simplicity, and performance.
  2. In the US, Average Mean Stack Developer salaries for job postings are 36% higher than average Mean Stack Developer salaries for job postings nationwide.
  3. Employers are starved for engineers familiar specific JavaScript-based technologies like MEAN Stack and hence demand is high.
  4. Node.js was released less than 5 years ago, but it’s already been adopted by LinkedIn, Walmart, SAP and Microsoft.
  5. Node.js has had a job demand growth of over 80000 percent over the span of 5 years.
  6. Employer demand for MongoDB is the growing the fastest among NoSQL databases and many times faster than the most popular SQL databases.
  7. Google (and by extension YouTube) have poured a ton of money and engineering talent into improving Angular.js.
